With all the hype surrounding this music video, I was expecting something bloody magnificent. It fell short a couple drops of blood though. Cassie looks amazingly sexy (as usual) & Lil' Wayne is well..Lil' Wayne. The video is good but doesn't compare to 'Long Way 2 Go'. One thing Cassie, so little clothes?

MTV has already announced T.I. and Rihanna as performers for this year’s MTV Video Music Awards. However, we hear that in addition to her own solo performance of “Disturbia,” Rihanna will join T.I. for the first-ever performance of their collaboration “Live Your Life,” the new single off T.I.’s "Paper Trail".
The 2008 MTV VMAs will air live on September 7th at 9 p.m. from Paramount Pictures Studios in Hollywood.

Back in 1998, Bryan Adams was a very well-respected, hit-making artist. In that very year he released 'When You're Gone' which featured Melanie C of the Spice Girls. The song peaked at number three at the UK singles chart and spent 15 weeks in the UK Top 40, with nine of these in the Top 10. It's one of my favourites & I hope you like it.

I am very very impressed with P!nk. The video is great. But I wasn't expecting any less. After all in 2006, 'Stupid Girl' was my favourite music video. So enjoy this masterpiece! A nominee for Video Of The Year at the 2009 VMA's?

Rihanna is back for another performance at the MTV Video Music Awards, along with Pink, Paramore and T.I., who will be making his first appearance at a major awards show since his arrest right before an awards ceremony last year.
The VMAs are set for Sept. 7 in Los Angeles with British comedian Russell Brand as the host. Performers already announced include the Jonas Brothers, Lil Wayne and Kid Rock.
Rihanna, who appeared with Chris Brown to sing her song "Umbrella" at last year's VMAs, is slated to perform her No. 1 hit "Disturbia"; Paramore plans to sing "Misery Business," while Pink is scheduled to showcase her new song "So What."
"I can't wait," Pink said Thursday, adding that she plans to "blow stuff up."
Thoughts?
Rihanna remains on top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts this week with 'Disturbia', narrowly edging out David Archuleta's 'Crush' which debuted at number 2 thanks to some downloads of around 166,000.
In other chart news Rihanna has gotten her first number one on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart jumping 3-1 with 'Take A Bow'. Rihanna really is a chart monster these days years. Congrats.

What would it sound like if 15 of the hottest female singers joined voices? The answer will be revealed Sept. 2.
That's when "Just Stand Up" hits airwaves and iTunes. The song features Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, Fergie, Sheryl Crow, Miley Cyrus, Melissa Etheridge, Ashanti, Natasha Bedingfield, Keyshia Cole, Ciara, Leona Lewis, LeAnn Rimes and Carrie Underwood. All sales of the star-studded single will benefit cancer research.
The charity tune was conceived by Antonio "L.A." Reid, who produced it with longtime creative colleague Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds.
All 15 singers will share the stage to perform the song live on Sept. 5 during the "Stand Up to Cancer" television special, set to air simultaneously on ABC, NBC and CBS. Other stars expected to turn out for the hour-long fund- and awareness-raising program include Jennifer Aniston, Lance Armstrong, Katie Couric, Sally Field, Salma Hayek, Meryl Streep, Forest Whitaker and Reese Witherspoon.
Founded in 2007, Stand Up to Cancer is a program of the Entertainment Industry Foundation that calls on entertainment-industry people and platforms to help fight cancer.

If Monica can release an awesomely awesome song like 'Everytime Tha Beat Drop' & get nowhere then I doubt she'll make much progress with 'Still Standing'.
I'm not saying I don't like it but I don't think radio will. She really needs to have another 'The Boy Is Mine' moment. Otherwise homegirl is gonna be stuck with Rocko singing 'umma do me'.

The Sugababes are back & ready to deliver with the lead single from their forthcoming sixth studio album! 'Girls' is the first single out from the set and so far all we have is a radio rip.
The song is funky and very enjoyable. It's quite unexpected, nothing like the electronic/pop scene in the last album "Change". Hopefully, the song will top the charts in the U.K. & maybe the girls will branch out to the US. Fingers crossed. Check it out!

New Chris Brown music has been popping up on the Web -- and the singer is not happy about it. The 19-year-old is frustrated that fans have been listening to a song called "Electric Guitar" that's supposed to be off his third album, due out next year.
"I'm mad that it's leaked," he told the Associated Press in a recent interview. "The record's not finished. It's supposed to be me and Rihanna's duet."
"Electric Guitar" would be yet another collaboration between Brown and his rumored girlfriend. He appeared on a remix to her smash hit "Umbrella" last year, and he's listed as a co-writer on her latest No. 1 hit, "Disturbia."
"It's fun being creative and even if you have a concept in your head to write about, you can write it and give it to someone else because it might not personally fit you, but it might be an idea you have," said Brown. "So with (Rihanna) that was an idea I had. I just wanted to go totally left and kind of weird, and that's what I threw at her."

Okay, now I'm upset as well. Electric Guitar is one hot, hot record. Hopefully this just means he'll go and make an even better song.

This week on the Billboard Hot 100, Rihanna is number one with 'Disturbia'. This gives her fourth number one on the chart after three years, two months and two weeks of charting. Chris Brown is number 2 with 'Forever'; perfectly seated beneath his girl & Katy Perry is cozy at number 3, finally off the top spot.
Other cool chartings were M.I.A.'s 'Paper Planes' which jumep 11 spots to 5 & Keri Hilson's 'Energy' which debuted at 90.
On the album side of things, Rihanna's 'Good Girl Gone bad' was the greatest sales gainer moving 12-9 with 44,000. Lloyd debuted at 7 with 51,000 copies sold and the Mamma Mia Soundtrack took the top spot with 130,000 copies.

After waiting a very long time, the next official Brandy single, 'Right Here (Departed)' is here. 'Afrodisiac', Brandy's last album underperformed and was also very much unappreciated. Personally it's one of the best albums of the decade.
Right Here is a really nice up-tempo song that really showcases Ms. Norwood's vocals. I'm not too sure how radio will respond to it. All my best wishes go out to Brandy though; if anybody in the game deserves success, it's this chick.

First of all let me say that I'm a huge Girlicious fan before I go off praising these girls for what is bound to be one of the best and most enjoyable albums by a group in the last couple years. Nichole, Chrystina, Tiffanie and Natalie have molded themselves into the perfect combination of sassy, sexy, classy and talented. With different vocal styles each girl represents a special and unique part of today's musical demand. I love them all - because they're Girlicious. And now the review begins..
The first song on the album is 'Do About It' and this song is just perfect for summer. It could easily be a single as it's amazing dance vibe just pounds right through the speakers. 'Baby Doll', which is supposed to be the second single has one the catchiest choruses I've heard in a very long time. Then the amazing hook makes me think this is a better version of 'Shut Up & Drive'. If things go naturally this song could very well reach the top of the charts in Canada and the US alike, making it their first hit there.
'Liar Liar' which features Flo Rida, is definitely one of the most urban songs on the album with thumping bass and soft lyrics that are played well, fitting with the theme of the song. These girls are good vocal actresses as well. 'Here I Am' was a completely unexpected track as the girls had some rock up in there. It's beautiful, starting with Tiff's vocals which were softer than usual and I loved that.
Of course they're some fairly weak sounds on the album. For Girlicious though, their weak means that it isn't 5 stars, just 4 or so. 'Cause the album is that great. 'Save The World' is okay but I'm not sure it was necessary to place it on the album. Also, 'Mirror' really didn't appeal much to my ears.
'The Way We Were' is a beautiful ballad-like/poppy song which features only Nichole's voice (but some smooth backups from the rest). 'Radio' is very intriguing and I fell in love with it as more of the song progressed. There is of course 'Like Me' which was one the best songs to grace radio and television for 2008. The most surprising track: 'My Boo'. This one is old schooooool! I loved it once the first 2 seconds came on. My take is that Girlicious should release 'Still In Love' now before summer ends as it is excellent and has the appeal to take it to number one.
At the end of a very enjoyable album all I can do is smile and put the whole thing on Repeat. I only wish that Chrystina would've gotten more spots or at least better spots on the album. Her vocals definitely shine and would be perfect to start off a Girlicious breakthrough single.

I had a hard time choosing the song for the latest Music Lesson, so I just put my music on Shuffle and eventually this song found me. Probably one of the best must-dance-to songs ever. That song is.....

"A Little Bit Longer" is the third studio album to be released by the Jonas Brothers. Probably the most popular boy band in the U.S. in this era, their new album is expected to open with huge sales & to be packed with loveable teen pop jams. But is it?
Expecting majorly annoying Disney pop music I went into this album with a skeptical frame of mind. After listening to the whole thing I have to say that I am thoroughly impressed.
The brothers are very, very good writers, co-writing every song on the album and I can't even say I'm disappointed with their outcomes. Even 'Video Girl' - which is probably the most expected song from teenyboppers - manages to mix appealing lyrics, a catchy chorus, great instrumentals & of course the boys' vocals well.
First single 'Burnin' Up' is obviously catchy (hence it's heavy radio airplay - I can't count the downloads 'cause that's due to those little Disney addicts lol). The choruses in each song are very well done. 'Sorry' which is a standout track sounds like if old school Backstreet Boys were resurrected.
However, the best song on the album is easily 'A Little Bit Longer'. Nothing even comes close to it. I'll give props to 'Tonight' & 'Burnin' Up' for trying.
One would ask if it's time to take the crown away from the BSB/N'Sync but I'd tell them that the Jonas Brothers are so much more than what they were. Teenage boys playing guitar? Singing? Making records? I'm on my way go get them specially made crowns and come right back.

A good week for music! Oh my, P!nk' 'So What' is sooo killin' it. It's like she took 'Stupid Girls' and had it mutated. It's a really good song! The lyrics suggest P!nk's telling her ex-husband that she's over it and that she's much better off now. A definite recommended download. Top 5 - Hot 100, maybe even number one?

'A Little Bit Longer' is the title track from Jonas Brothers' forthcoming sophomore album and it features only the vocals of Nick Jonas.
This song is a perfect pop jewel and is exactly what was needed for the revival of the boy band movement. Assuming that the song is added to Top 40 radio, I think the JB have a surefire hit. I have never been so moved by the whole Disney thing before.

I'm sure you guy's won't mind that I'm reviewing an album that was released a month ago. =] It's just that the album received very little attention and I think it's worthy of more.
Latinas Janelle & Jessica Martinez make up the pop duo of Prima J. Finding success with 'Rockstar' after it was featured on the Bratz soundtrack (and recently being used on ads for The N's Queen Bees) the girls released their debut disc "Prima J" via Geffen Records (Mary J. Blige, Nelly Furtado).
The album is filled with high energy music that'll keep you moving, non-stop. Even the 'slowies' keep you grooving like 'Corazón (You're Not Alone)' or 'Nadie (No One)', a spanglish cover of Alicia Keys' 'No One' which while it doesn't compare to it vocally it definitely adds some swag. 'Chilosa' is probably the biggest standout on the record. The song is so hype and groovy that you won't even care what chilosa means.
The one problem with the disc is that it lacks serious originality and the lyrics are so meaningless and unnecessarily wild ('Boom', 'Tame'), it's like I died & was reborn in a slutty teenage beerfest (I'm not complaining, lol). I just feel like I've heard all of this before. Also, lots of the songs feel like fillers for a Fergie or Pussycat Dolls album. Speaking of Fergie, there's one track on the album that sounds just like if she made it herself - 'Go Hard' - which sounds like a latino-ed 'London Bridge'.
Overall, the girls make a fun-to-listen-to album that you should take with you on a long summer road trip. Teenage girls will love this (not trying to be stereotypical, but hey).
